Vidya Balan to dub in nine languages for a cause

Actress Vidya Balan will soon be seen onscreen in Sujoy Ghosh directorial ‘Kahaani 2‘. The actress who has been down with Dengue was advised rest by her doctors. The National Award winning actress decided to utilize her time away from film shoot by completing her commitments.

The lady is known for her penchant for Indian handloom silk sarees. She was recently enrolled by the government for an initiative that supports the authenticity of silk wear. Vidya was asked to dub the advertisement in nine Indian languages to promote the cause. Not many know that the actress enjoys learning new languages. Therefore it was a promotion that she loved to do.

  • Sources said, “Vidya has dubbed in nine Indian languages to promote this cause. Though she speaks a bit of Tamil, Malayalam and Bengali, and is fluent in Hindi and Marathi, she had to practice her lines in Telugu, Kannada, Assamese and Gujarati. As Vidya insists on dubbing for her ads she loved speaking in different languages for it.”

    Vidya Balan has a number of projects in her kitty. Topping the list is ‘Kahaani 2’ that will be releasing in November and a biopic on famous poetess Kamala Surayya, aka Kamala Das.
