Goa’s Director General of Police Muktesh Chander has asked people to boycott Karan Johar‘s romantic saga ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. He is upset over the dialogue in the movie which allegedly equates singing of Rafi to crying. He feels that it is an insult to the legendary singer.
There is a dialogue in the film, wherein Anushka Sharma is seen telling Ranbir Kapoor, “Mohammad Rafi? Woh gaate kam, rote zyada the na?”. This has irked the 1988 batch IPS officer, who is posted as Director General of Police in Goa. Chander tweeted, “Md Rafi was one of the greatest singers of India and needs no certificate from anyone. If you are a Rafi fan, boycott this movie.”
Mohamad Rafi’s family too is quite upset over the dialogue. They have taken an objection to the dialogue. The Romantic saga had faced protest by the MNS for casting Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. The feud between MNS chief Raj Thackeray and Johar was resolved after Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadanavis struck a truce between them.
But looks like it is not smooth sailing for the filmmaker as he hits a new hurdle.
‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ stars Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai, Anushka Sharma in pivotal roles.
