Sushant Singh Rajput has been basking in the glory of his last release ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’. But with success come controversies and that’s exactly what SSR had to face. There were speculations that Sushant had hiked his fees post the success of the Dhoni biopic and that he believed that he was solely responsible for the success of the movie.
So, when he was asked by a popular daily, he quashed all the rumours. Here’s what SSR said, “Brand Dhoni helped brand Sushant in real terms. Look at the opening we got. I have no shame in admitting that it was because of Dhoni and also because of Neeraj Pandey’s trailer that people were so excited for the movie. People were anticipating it to be Mahi’s story and that’s why they went for it. The movie wouldn’t have done well had Neeraj not made it so good. I don’t matter since I put my same efforts in all movies but not all do well. So when one succeeds and other doesn’t, it doesn’t matter to me since both are equally dear to me.”
He also cleared the air on his alleged fee hike by saying, “I already had five films before Dhoni released, so there’s no point negotiating anything. But if I decide to go and attend weddings, I would take a bigger chunk but not for films. I do other stuffs because I take too much time for a movie. So I will do everything else for money but not films. Money is not a consideration for me. It’s upto my management who has to decide dates. But if I am offered five movies and like two but have time for one, it will come down to money offered. That’s my management’s job. I don’t know how much money I have in my bank account.”
Now, that should put to rest all the speculations about his starry ways!
