Bollywood actor Nana Patekar’s comments on the recent banning of Pakistani actors controversy has gone viral. The actor has supported the ban and criticised the Bollywood celebrities who have been supporting Pakistani artists saying these celebs don’t deserve the attention they are getting.
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray had given an ultimatum to Pakistani actors to leave the country within 48 hours. This was done In the wake of Uri attacks in which a number of soldiers lost their life.Thackeray’s ultimatum divided Bollywood, some for it and some against. Salman Khan raked up a controversy by supporting the Pakistani actors. He soon had to face a backlash for his statement from political parties, Twitterati and many more.
When Nana Patekar was asked to comment on the issue. He said, “Pakistani actors and others come later, first comes my country. I don’t know anyone other than my country and would never like to know. Actors are like bed bugs in front of the country, we don’t have any worth.”
He further added, “I have been in the Army for two and a half years, so I know who are our original heroes. Our jawans are the biggest heroes and no one can be bigger than the soldiers. We actors are just fake and insignificant people, and people should not pay heed to what the celebs are saying”.
Patekar is being lauded by Twitterati and has been trending since long now.
