MNS chief Raj Thackeray flayed Bollywood actor Salman Khan for opposing the ban on Pakistani artists in India. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief turned the heat on the ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and even threatened to ban his movies if he continued supporting Pakistani artists. He has asked the actor to apologise or they will take this step to teach him a lesson
Salman Khan at a recent event had given his views on the recent ban imposed on Pakistani artists after the Uri attacks. He had said, “They are artists, not terrorists. It’s the government who gives them work permits and visas. Art and terrorism should not be mixed.”
Raj who is on good terms with Salman Khan and has been spotted visiting the actor’s home during the Ganpati festival was not happy with his remarks. He said, “I think Salman should go to Pakistan and get a work permit there. Out jawans are dying on the border and all he is worried about is song and dance. Is there a dearth of actors in India that we have to import actors from Pakistan.”
He further added, “Jawans are fighting for us at borders. What’ll happen if they decide to put down their weapons? Who’ll guard the borders? Salman Khan? Bollywood? These artists (Salman Khan) should realise ‘Nation first’.”
The issue has also divided Bollywood with some agreeing with the MNS demand of banning Pakistan artistes from working in Bollywood to some not happy with the ban imposed. The Indian Motion Picture Producers Association has already imposed a ban on actors from across the border.
