Bollywood’s Badshah Shah Rukh Khan‘s mini-series ‘Ahamaq’ that has gone on to be a full-fledged film will be screened at the upcoming 18th edition of the Mumbai Film Festival also known as MAMI . It is based on Fyodor Dostoevsky’s novel ‘The Idiot’. It was directed by Mani Kaul and starred Shah Rukh Khan and Ayub Khan-Din.
‘Ahamaq’ was first released as a four-part TV mini-series on Doordarshan in 1991. Later in the year 1992, the film was screened at the New York Film Festival. It will be presented back to back as a four-hour film. The unedited mini-series will be screened under the new program of the film festival, called, ‘The New Medium’. It will also be accompanied by a live score performed by the Vitaly Tkachuk Quartet from Ukraine.
