If you thought the recent ban on Pakistani artists has only affected upcoming movies ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and ‘Raees’, then that’s not the case as Neeraj Pandey’s recently released biopic ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story‘ also had to face difficulties. Well, it was said that the movie also had a guest appearance by Pakistani actor Fawad Khan as Indian test cricket captain Virat Kohli. After seeing the movie, we believed that he was never a part of the film and they were only rumours. However, now the grapevine suggests that the actor was very much a part of the film, but his role was chopped off by the makers owing to the recent ban. This was a last minute decision. This decision was taken by Neeraj who wanted to steer clear of any controversy to his film.
According to a source, “Neeraj Pandey didn’t want any negative publicity or controversy around the film. Though Fawad Khan’s character was an integral part of the film, but it wasn’t as important as that of MS Dhoni’s. So he thought it’s better to do away with the Fawad’s portions in the film than face the ire of this controversy. Neeraj didn’t want the focus of the film to shift from MS Dhoni and Sushant Singh Rajput to Fawad Khan, Virat Kohli and Pakistan. Fawad Khan wasn’t even aware about his part being omitted until the movie released.”
The movie earned mixed reviews and is said to be Sushant Singh Rajput’s best performance till date. Now let’s keep our fingers crossed to pray the release of Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Raees’ doesn’t get affected.
