Box Office India: Day 1 of ‘Chef’ earns Rs 1.05 crore, a slow start

Saif Ali Khan doesn’t have that successful films in his pocket and this time in his new movie ‘Chef’ (2017) which released on 6th October didn’t perform that well. The first day performance of the film gave a slow start. Few moviegoers have liked the film but many have not appreciated the film much. However, ‘Chef’ earned only Rs 1.05 crore on Day 1.

The film was not really expected to collect but the collections of the film are even lower. It didn’t even get that much of earning like of ‘Noor’ and ‘Guest In London’ and grossed in the region of 1.50 crore nett. But the collections are almost half of that with the first day collections coming in 80-90 lakhs nett range.

Expectations were not that high from the film but it has not performed even to the mark of expectations. The figures have stated to be poor and that too with the normal growth, the morning performance of the first day was really slow. Saif Ali Khan’s ‘Chef’ has done less business than films ‘Newton’ and ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ (but aren’t included below as they had limited releases and the ones below had 1000 screens or close to it).
