Chef‘ is a perfect example of how amidst achieving our career goals, we forget to live a little more with the people who love us with all their heart. It’s a good feeling to write a review on this movie, mainly because there was just so much food in the movie!

Roshan Kalra (Saif Ali Khan) loses his job at a restaurant in the U.S. due to some reason and returns back to Kerala, India to his ex-wife Radha (Padmapriya) and son Ary (Svar Kamble). He gets an offer to start a meals on wheels business by Biju (Milind Soman). The movie revolves around how he establishes this business, finds himself and how things fall into place with his family.

You don’t really need to understand this movie, it just flows with a beautiful story. And if you’ve watched the Hollywood film with the same name, you’ll know most of it. But since it’s the Indian audience watching this Saif Ali Khan starrer, there’s more emotions with good music instilled into it. The screenplay penned by Raja Krishna Menon, Suresh Nair and Ritesh Shah flows smooth. Though there are certain instances where the editing could have been better, especially in the climax.

After watching ‘Airlift’, the expectations with Raja Krishna Menon had increased and he lives up to them. Simply put, if you make a movie which revolves around food and leave the audience crave for food, your job is done. Along with all the mouth-watering dishes in there, the movie talks about a beautiful bond between a father and a son and also makes us realize how family comes above all other relations on earth.

Priya seth has done the cinematography quite well with showing the authenticity of India beautifully. The music is very refreshing so all points go to Raghu Dixit for the same.

Talking about performances, Saif Ali Khan looks flawless in his character. He’s come on the big screen after a while with how people love to watch him like. Padmapriya looks lovely and Svar Kamble does a decent job as well. Milind Soman is a show stealer every time he appears on the screen while Chandan Roy Sanyal is impressive too.

So grab a tub of popcorn while you watch this very deliciously made movie ‘Chef’.
