Rajesh Khanna, Nanda and Bindu’s ‘Ittefaq‘ in 1969 made us have our heart in our mouth. And now, Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha and Akshaye Khanna’s ‘Ittefaq’ sure does live up to the expectations.

The movie starts with Vikram Sethi (Sidharth Malhotra), a well known novelist from UK running away from the cops. He then lands up at a married woman Maya Sinha’s (Sonakshi Sinha) house to seek help. But she in turn gets him arrested and in no time, he is charged with two murders. One being the murder of his own wife Catherine, while the other one is of lawyer Shekhar Sinha, Maya’s husband.

Akshaye Khanna who plays the cop Dev now has to crack the mystery of this case. He starts with interrogating both Maya and Vikram who have different versions to tell about the murder. Now, there’s another story to watch which talks about a girl’s suicide because of Vikram’s novel. You’re already sitting on the edge of your seat by now, aren’t you?

The second half shows the decoding of the real murders but ends up with a massive twist. This story sure does keep you questioning about the mystery throughout.

If we speak about the actors’ performances, with Akshaye in the cast, he sure does exceptionally well than Sonakshi and Sidharth. This thriller also adds a little fun element between Akshaye and his junior cop. The background score plays huge role in keeping the thrill to the plot alive. But if you’re to compare this movie with the original one, you might be expecting a lot unnecessarily. Originals are originals for a reason right!?

It for sure is a worthy watch!
