‘MS Dhoni The Untold Story’ the Neeraj Pandey directorial takes us through the journey of captain cools tribulations, dreams, aspirations, heartbreaks and finally victory in a three-hour long cinematic journey. He has brought forth minute details of Dhoni’s journey from a small town boy to the most loved captain whose helicopter shot is feared by the rivals on the cricket grounds. The biopic is the captain’s way of thanking his friends and well wisher’s who supported him to achieve this enviable status.

The first half of the movie mesmerises the audience as the director takes them through a journey of their favourite cricketer’s life. His struggle to achieve his dreams. The Ranchi lad who went from being a railway ticket collector in Kharagpur to becoming one of the brightest-ever stars of Indian cricket. The epic journey is brought to life on the big screen and will keep the fans hooked. There is an added attraction of knowing his romantic side on big screen too.

Dhoni’s father Pan Singh Dhoni (Anupam Kher) is a pump operator in Ranchi. He wants his son to get a government job rather than weild a bat. But going against all odds with the help of his friends and near and dear ones Dhoni(Sushant Singh Rajput) goes on to achieve his dreams. Sushant Singh Rajput in ‘MS Dhoni The Untold Story’ is a treat to watch on the big screen.

Sushant Singh Rajput as Dhoni has carried the film on his broad shoulders. He has truly sweated blood and tears to bring to life the charismatic captain of Indian cricket. He has even nailed the iconic helicopter shot and restrained personality of the captain.

Neeraj Pandey has aptly recreated Dhoni’s life in Ranchi. Though he has given us an insider’s view of the captain’s early life there have been much that has not been touched upon in the film. This will leave you a tad disappointed as the director has swept many of Dhoni’s missteps in his career under the carpet.

Supporting actors performances tug at your heartstrings. The two actresses do not have much of a screen time to display their acting capabilities but have managed to hold their ground. Bhumika Chawla as Dhoni’s sister leaves a mark. The screenplay maintains a standard. Sanjoy Chowdhury’s background scores are good

All in all the film ‘MS Dhoni The Untold Story’ is a must watch for cricket fans. Watch it for Sushant Singh Rajput’s incredible performance.
