‘Remo’ movie review: It is a Sivakarthikeyan film all the way

Cast: Keerthy Suresh, Saranya Ponvannan, Sathish, Sivakarthikeyan

Direction: Bakkiyaraj Kannan

Rating: ★★★★

‘Remo’ is a romantic comedy film written and directed by newcomer Bakkiyaraj Kannan. It features Sivakarthikeyan and Keerthy Suresh in the lead roles. The story revolves around an aspiring actor played by Sivakarthikeyan who dreams of making it big in the world of entertainment but due to some glitches ends up with the role of a female nurse.

The youngster soon falls in love with a doctor (Keerthy Suresh). When she doesn’t accept his proposal of love, he decides to disguise himself as a nurse and soon as a lady nurse tries to woo the doctor. Will he be successful? Will his love be reciprocated? All this and many more answers will be revealed in ‘Remo’.

The movie engages you from the onset itself all thanks to the outstanding acting by Sivakarthikeyan. As a nurse he looks truly attractive. This is thanks to the work of Sean Foot (WETA) a special makeup effects artist for his lady look.

The actor has been growing from strength to strength and has proved that he is a true entertainer who can hold the audience’s interest with his outstanding talent. His two avatars, one of the youngster and another avatar of the nurse in the film are truly worth a watch. But, he has to work a little more to bring out his romantic side.

PC Sreeram has let his camera do the talking. Director Bakkiyaraj Kannan seems to have written the script of the film keeping Sivakarthikeyan in mind. The actor has done justice to the faith that the director has in him. Keerthy Suresh has done well but in some places the script has let her down. The songs are captured beautifully. Editing by Ruben deserves a mention.

‘Remo’ is a Sivakarthikeyan film all the way. A cute romantic comedy which is enjoyable for all ages.
