Did Karan Johar get AIB’s meme on Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’s ‘Bulleya’ deleted from Internet?

AIB is known for their hilarious take on current topics. But recently an unusual occurrence had them trending on the social network as #AIBcensored. The reason for it was a meme on their social media accounts on September 19. It was all about Pritam’s riff(a short, repeated a musical phrase) on ‘Bulleya’ from ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ that was a rip off of Papa Roach’s biggest hit ‘Last Resort’.

AIB had posted a meme on the social network but it soon vanished from the social network. The blame on its disappearance was laid on Karan Johar and Ajay Devgn too. It was rumoured that Kjo was not happy with the meme, and he called up AIB to have it deleted. Twitterati came out in strength and tweeted against the two. Finally, Tanmay Bhatt cleared the matter.

Tanmay said, “We have a social media person who’s responsible for making jokes. Every now and then, he accidentally makes a joke which has either been done by others before us, or that we’re repeating. It’s not intentional but it happens sometimes, if you’re making 20 jokes a day. Someone pointed out to my social media manager that this joke had been made before, so we took it down.”

He further added that, “Today, I was napping after a long day of work. I woke up to see that I’ve been censored by Karan Johar, which… Isn’t true. We’ve said worse things about Karan Johar, TO Karan Johar’s face and he didn’t censor us. Why would he do it for a meme? I don’t know anything about anyone paying anyone to trend this. But if anyone is being paid, I would like to be paid a little also, thank you.”

‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ starring Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka Sharma and Fawad Khan in pivotal roles. The Karan Johar directorial is clashing at the box-office with Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay on October 28.
