Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kaabil’ rights sold for Rs 65 crores

Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan will soon be seen in Sanjay Gupta’s thriller ‘Kaabil’. The rights of the film is sold for for a modest price of Rs 65 crores. The film that is being produced by Rakesh Roshan has the actor depicting the role of a blind man seeking vengeance. Yami Gautam will be seen as his wife with real-life brothers, Ronit Roy and Rohit Roy playing the villains here.

The trailer of the film was much loved by the viewers. Hrithik who has been facing a major slum in his career with the failure of his recent release like ‘Mohenjo Daro’ is happy with the response. The makers have therefore maintained a modest budget to gain maximum profits. The domestic rights of the film has been sold for Rs 50 crores and the international rights have been sold for Rs 15 crores.

A leading tabloid has revealed that, “When Rakeshji (Roshan) decided to produce the film with Sanjay Gupta as the director, it was clear that the budget won’t go overboard. This is not a Krrish in the making that requires an astronomical sum to be spent on production. As a matter of fact even the film’s promotional campaign calls Kaabil as ‘a small film with a big heart’.

Sources added, “Of course, even a small film of Hrithik Roshan is bound to be big, as it is apparent in the promo that is already out. Still, when compared to the magnum opus set up that majority of Hrithik starrers carry, be it Krrish series, ‘Bang Bang’ or ‘Mohenjo Daro’, ‘Kaabil’ has a much controlled set up.”

‘Kaabil’ is scheduled to release on January 26 2017, and is all set to clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’.
