Filmmaker Karan Johar recently opened up on his sexual orientation that has been subjected to much scrutiny since long. This was done by the filmmaker on the launch of his biography ‘An Unsuitable Boy‘ that has been penned by him and Poonam Saxena.
Kjo was quite evasive while speaking about it. He also revealed that he will never come out in the open about it as he fears the judiciary of the country. His confessions have irked the LGBTQ community. They slammed him for it on the social network.
Pallav Patankar, noted LGBTQ activist said, “If an uneducated person in a remote Indian village comes and tells me that they are scared of coming out, I’d take it, but this coming from somebody with a stature as big as Karan’s, I feel let down. He should be coming out as an empowered and powerful individual, and actually make a difference for those helpless people living in villages. People who were earlier earlier considering coming out will now sit and think twice, worried that an FIR might be involved — but this is baseless. You won’t be arrested for coming out.”
Patankar added that the community will stand by Karan if he decides to come out in the open. This stand by the noted celebrity might help many others to confess.
