Bollywood’s barbie doll Katrina Kaif has come a long way since her debut film ‘Boom’. The beauty is to be felicitated with Smita Patil Memorial Award by the Priyadarshni Academy Global Award on September 19. This is in recognition for her contribution to Bollywood.
Niranjan Hiranandani (Chairman, Priyadarshni Academy) says, “The academy has been giving this distinguished award ever since it was established, and this year, the jury has unanimously nominated Katrina for the Smita Patil Memorial Award for her work in films.”
Nanik Rupani (Founder Chairman) added, “Katrina Kaif has proved that she is not just a pretty face but an outstanding human being too. This award goes to her as a recognition to an outstanding individual who has shown excellence in her field.”
The Priyadarshni Academy is an NGO engaged in socio-cultural and education activities and has been holding the awards event since 1984. Several internally renowned celebrities are also honoured at this global awards event.
On work front, Katrina Kaif whose recent release ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ did not work well at the box-office is now awaiting the release of her much-delayed film ‘Jagga Jasoos’. Next on the pipeline is the sequel of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, which shall bring back the ever hit jodi of Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan together once again.
