A few days back, reports spread all over in the media that choreographer turned filmmaker Farah Khan is planning to make a sequel to her 2004 debut vehicle ‘Main Hoon Na’ that featured Shah Rukh Khan, Sushmita Sen, Zayed Khan and Amrita Rao in it. She had spoken about the same in a chat show ‘Spices & Secrets with Zarine Khan’ where she made an appearance with Jackie Shroff.
But alas! She is not helming a sequel to the movie and she believes her words were misconstrued. Speaking to a web portal, Farah said, “Yes, I am working on a script but I am not making a sequel of ‘Main Hoon Na’. I did not announce anything officially on that. Many times, we chat or joke about something and that goes all over (in the media). However, nothing concrete is there. Currently the script is in a developing stage… the story is very different and there is no big hero in that.”
She further added, “There are many sequels made and some of them did not do well at the box office in recent time. Since’ Main Hoon Na’ is a cult film, if I want to make a sequel, the story has to be good! People have a huge expectation from that film. We might just take the character of Ram Prasad Sharma (played by Shahrukh Khan) to the next level in the sequel but nothing substantial has been scripted. So I cannot say anything on that.”
So, fans of ‘Main Hoon Na’ will have to wait a bit more longer.
