Ranveer Singh replaces Salman Khan in a major endorsement deal

Superstar Salman Khan has lost a major endorsement deal to Bollywood brat Ranveer Singh. The actor who has been associated with the popular beverage brand Thums Up since past four year lost the deal due to his contract with Colors channel. Salman who is hosting Bigg Boss 10 that is being sponsored by Parle Agro’s beverage brand Appy Fizz which is a major rival of brand Coca Cola. Therefore US beverage giant Coca-Cola has dropped actor Salman Khan as Thums Up’s brand ambassador.

Sources said, “Salman Khan was committed to an existing relationship with a daily TV show, which this year happens to be sponsored by a brand that competes with the Coca-Cola India product portfolio. In light of this, both parties have mutually decided not to renew the current contract.”

Thums Up is Coca-Cola’s largest selling drink after Sprite. And Khan, who charges around Rs 7 crore for an ad, has been endorsing the brand since 2012. Khan had been roped up by the company for a second time in 2012. He had earlier endorsed the brand in early 2000s. In return Coca-Cola India had signed an agreement with Being Human — The Salman Khan Foundation to jointly promote charitable activities.

Now the company is in talks with Ranveer Singh to endorse Thums Up.
