Superstar Salman Khan has filed a Rs. 100 crore defamation case against a television news channel in the Bombay High Court. In the suit filed by the Dabangg Khan he has claimed that a sting operation conducted by the channel in the 1998 chinkara poaching case was malicious and defamatory.
Salman Khan was accused of poaching a Chinkara while shooting for ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ in Rajasthan on September 1998. He has filed a suit against the news channel before a division bench of the HC in August this year. He wants the court to restrain from releasing any part of the sting operation. The channel had claimed that in the sting operation they have witnesses claiming they saw Salman Khan shooting the endangered species in Jodhpur.
Both the parties have now submitted affidavits and have informed the court that they are working towards a mutual settlement. Presiding judge SJ Kathawall will hear the matter on November 18.
Salman Khan has been acquitted by the Rajasthan Court in two cases related to poaching in July this year.
