Shahid Kapoor: I find it absurd when people say that ‘Padmavati’ is a ‘two hero’ film

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s historical drama ‘Padmavati‘ has been mired in controversies from the onset. The most prominent speculative story that has been doing the rounds is that Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh share cold vibes and have a rift due to their respective roles in the movie.

Now, at a recent film festival, actor Shahid Kapoor who plays the role of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh in ‘Padmavati’ was asked about the so-called tiff between him and RS. Here’s what he replied, “This is the stuff I’ve been reading in papers and I find it absurd when they say it is ‘two hero’ film. The film has three principle characters. These are just ways of creating some kind of material which is exciting at some frivolous level. It’s a great opportunity for all three of us. It’s a great role for Deepika, a fantastic role for Ranveer and great one for me. I am happy that the film has been cast the way it has and it is getting made. I hope we come out with a great cinematic experience for the audience.”

He further added that if he would have been offered this movie 5 years back, he would have signed it immediately. Says Sasha, “I am grateful for the opportunity. If five years ago I would’ve said no to it, someone would’ve whacked me and said that’s the stupidest mistake of my life.”

Let’s see what Ranveer and Deepika have to say on this. Ranveer Singh plays the role of Alauddin Khilji whereas Deepika Padukone is Rani Padmavati. The movie will release next year.
