Hollywood’s legendary actor Sylvester Stallone was bowled over by the story line of Salman Khan starrer ‘Sultan’. The actor known for his ‘Rocky’ franchise felt that the story lke Sultan can be made for the American audience too. This fact was revealed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the talented director of the film that showcased Salman Khan in the role of a wrestler Sultan Ali Khan.
Zafar revealed that he had once narrated the idea of ‘Sultan’ to Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone. This was when he had met him in Los Angeles.
Ali Abbas Zafar said, “I met Stallone, while doing research and getting my martial arts team from LA. I met him for a brief interaction and he kind of heard the story. He said ‘Wow, what a story. This could be a story which can easily be done in America.’ Because it’s about an underdog who has lost everything and is trying to get his self esteem back.”
Ali Abbas Zafar who will soon start work on ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ a sequel to ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ with Salman and Katrina. He feels a lot of pressure to deliver back-to-back hits and that pressure makes him work hard to achieve it. He added, “It feels special but it also unnerves you because more people know you now, they recognise your work. Next time you make something, they will be looking out for you. But it’s a good feeling.”
Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer ‘Sultan’ released in July in India and went on to become a blockbuster.
