Actors Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh, who are all set to share screen space in their upcoming romantic drama Gustaakh Ishq, recently opened up about how love and relationships have changed over time. During the film’s trailer launch, both stars shared heartfelt thoughts on what they feel is missing in today’s idea of romance.
Vijay Varma On What He Misses In Love
Vijay Varma reflected on how modern dating has become more about labels than emotions. He said, “There is a term for everything. Agar koi chup ho gaya toh usse ghosting bol dete hai, koi agar zyada bol diya toh toxic ho gaya. Everything has a tag. Things that can be understood, people just immediately tag it and move on.” He added that the beauty of patience and waiting seems to have faded, saying, “Silence ka ek maza hota tha, intizaar ka ek maza hota tha, milne ka maza hota tha, rukne ka maza hota tha. I miss those things. However, romance is the same — two people falling in love is the same as it has always been, even a thousand years ago.”
Fatima Sana Shaikh On Why Love Is Blind
Adding to his thoughts, Fatima Sana Shaikh offered her perspective on love and vulnerability. She said, “People often say ‘falling in love’, but when you fall, no matter how many boundaries you create, you do what you want to do. So when you fall in love, you become toxic in love. So when you love your love, I would love to fall in love.

Their film Gustaakh Ishq explores the complexities of passion, longing, and emotional connection — themes both actors clearly resonate with off-screen as well.
